Dan Blumenthal - SPECIAL COUNSEL

Dan M. Blumenthal is Special Counsel to Wenig Saltiel, where his practice concentrates in the areas of complex  landlord-tenant and foreclosure litigation, appellate practice, and commercial leasing.

 

Since 2015, Dan has been the Practice Commentator for McKinney’s Consolidated Laws of New York, Volume 49 (Real Property Law) and Volume 49½ (Real Property Actions and Proceedings Law) (the law that Judges and attorneys in the real estate field rely on).

 

He was the co-author with Hon. Gerald Lebovits of the first (2008) edition of NY Residential Landlord-Tenant Law and Procedure, published by the New York State Bar Association.

 

He regularly writes for the New York State Bar Association. New York Real Property Law Journal and the Nassau County Bar Association. He is a frequent Continuing Legal Education speaker for Lorman Educational Services, National Business Institute, the NYS Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association. 

 

His 2013 article in the Nassau Lawyer, Recent Appellate Term Rulings Make Gaining Possession of Collateral More Difficult for Foreclosing Lenders, Purchasers, was recently cited in Chatham Square Owners Corp. v. Roth, 54 Misc. 3d 1219(A) (Dist. Ct. Nassau 2017) as a call to the New York State Legislature to review issues of secured interest holder’s standing in summary proceedings.
